BALIK SCIENTIST PROGRAM (BSP) AWARDEE 2015
Dr. Jingky Lozano-Kühne has been a Balik Scientist Program (BSP) awardee in 2015 by the Philippine Council for Health Reseach, Department of Science and Technology, Philippines for her contribution to the country in the field of Biostatistics and Genetic Epidemiology. Dr. Lozano-Kühne is the first Filipina who has been trained in Germany in Applied Statistics and Empirical Methods in the field of Genetic Epidemiology. She has continuously served the Philippines through collaborative scientific researches and conduct of lectures, courses and seminars as visiting professor. She has advised and supervised graduate students from different Philippine universities and has been helping in distance education courses of the University of the Philippines Open University.

UPAA MEMBER'S BOOK GOT THE BEST BOOK AWARD IN THE SOCIAL SCIENCES IN 2013
Prof. Dr. Marlies Salazar's book entitled "Perspectives on Philippine Languages: Five Centuries of European Studies" has been awarded by the National Book Develeopment Board - Philippines the ELFREN S. CRUZ PRIZE FOR BEST BOOK IN THE SOCIAL SCIENCES on November 16, 2013. The book is the first comprehensive history of European studies on Philippine languages. It was launched on January 11, 2013. UPAA'S MOST DISTINGUISHED ALUMNA 2012
Ambassador Delia Domingo-Albert (BSFS’62), UPAA Germany's honorary president, is the recipient of UPAA's Most Distinguised Alumna Award in 2012. Amb. Domingo-Albert served the public for 43 years. She was the first woman Secretary of Foreign Affairs in the Philippines and in the ASEAN region.

AMAZING ALUMNI ACHIEVERS (TRIPLE A) AWARDEE 2008
Dr. Helen Samson-Lauterwald received the Triple A award from her high school Alma Mater, Maryknoll College, in 2008. She co-authored the first and only German-Pilipino-Pilipino-German dictionary now in its 5th edition, and currently being used in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Belgium. She graduated from the University of the Philippines in Diliman with a Bachelor of Arts in English, Bachelor of Music in Piano and Master of Music in Musicology. She obtained her PhD with a major in Musicology from the University of Cologne in Germany. Among her publications are The Bamboo Organ of Las Pinas, the second revised and updated edition (ISBN 971-93356-0-2) of which was launched on July 26, 2006 at the Parish of St. Joseph in Las Pinas, Metro-Manila, and relaunched 2 days later at the UP Main Library; Diego Cera: Biographical Impressions (ISBN 978-971-506-484-2, UST Publishing House), an English translation of the original Spanish authored by F. Salamero of Barcelona; and Die zeitgenössische Kunstmusik der Philippinen im Spannungsfeld zwischen nationalem Erbe und europäischem Einfluß (ISBN 3-7649-2372-5, Gustav Bosse Verlag Regensburg). Her biography appeared in the International Who’s Who in Classical Music in 2002. She was a recipient of a prestigious research fellowship in the field of Musicology from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the University of Cologne.
